This morning we leave on what I estimate to be my sixth ballpark tour. We're going to Des Moines,
Davenport, St. Louis (to see three games of Twins v Cardinals), and Cedar Rapids.
In preparation for
this trip I've done some strength training with my alcohol tolerance. For the past week I've
tried to take at least one shot of tequila every day, preferably in the morning. Only time will
prove if I've made the necessary preparations to avoid earning the dreaded "Pacer" award. The
primary book that
I'll be reading on this trip is A Players Life by Dave Winfield. Despite having been
born in St. Paul, Dave's book can't be borrowed from any of Saint Paul's Libraries, or found in any
of its bookstores (I searched for nearly two years). Luckily, I managed to find this book when
I was in
Portland, OR in March at Powell's City of Books, the biggest bookstore I've ever been to.
Unluckily, the book accidentally wound up in a donation bin and went off
to a book drive in Albert Lea. Luckily, I realized a couple days before leaving on the trip
and was able to recover the book (along with a few others which had also been accidentally
donated), phew!!! I'm so excited for this trip. Here we go!
